In order to keep up with current customer demands of free shipping, but constrained by the high cost of shipping, a global confectionary company sought to enhance shipping across the board.
SSA & Company developed a what-if scenario analysis that would generate recommended promotions and predict the results to establish an integrated approval workflow. The team also provided recommendations for shipping membership programs, corporate customer ecommerce, and strategic market direction.
Through data mining, the development of various predictive models and experiential subject matter expertise, SSA & Company enhanced the company’s shipping policies, planned a comprehensive, day-by-day promotion calendar for 2017 and 2018 and an updated customer-facing freight table. The development of these tools, resulted in the identification of over $1.5M in savings, $6M in additional revenue, and $3M in additional contribution margin.
