Shoppers can expect to pay more this Black Friday. Vice President Chris Ventry was quoted in a FreightWaves article, “Black Friday Is Going to Be Boring This Year.” He shared his perspectives on how retailers are offsetting the rising costs of goods with lower discounts and passing costs to the consumer in hopes of padding their margins this season.

Chris explains what he sees happening this season stating, “While cost of goods is rising for many brands and retailers, many are passing on the increase in costs (COGS, freight, fulfillment) directly to the consumer. Coupled with a decrease in promotional discounts, we expect retailers to experience higher gross margins this holiday season.”
