10 principles that define our practice

Many years ago our management team set down 10 principles that define our practice.  These are not just sentiments; they truly guide the way we work:

1.
SSA & Company formerly Six Sigma Academy exists to create substantial and demonstrable improvements to our clients’ businesses. We choose to work here because we believe in our ability to effect real change, and we enjoy measuring it – every day.

2.
We always make choices that benefit our clients, our people, and our firm, in that priority.

3.
We are trusted advisors to our clients. We earn this position by understanding our clients’ businesses: what drives them, who their customers and competitors are, where their markets are going, and how their internal organizations work.

4.
Our clients rely on us to make complex situations clear and understandable. To do so, we build on our technical expertise and the basic tools of our craft: analysis, writing, speaking, and managing.

5.
We hold ourselves to the most rigorous professional standards with our work and in our comportment, whether for our largest projects or the smallest detail.

6.
Our skills in teaching, mentoring, and leading our clients are as important to our success as the capabilities and tools we leave with them.

7.
We select, train, and motivate the best people. We treat our colleagues the way we expect to be treated – with respect, courtesy, and compassion. We also remember the importance of a sense of humor and having fun.

8.
We nurture a culture that embraces and celebrates individual growth and achievement.

9.
Efficiently operating a profitable business is the foundation of SSA & Company. We collectively share in our opportunities, successes and challenges.

10.
We are building something great. Each of us has a responsibility to support this pursuit.
